Who doesn’t love an impromptu wedding? This week on The Bold and the Beautiful, Eric surprised Donna with a marriage proposal and a ceremony — all at the same time! (As soon as we saw her in that sparkly white gown, we knew what was coming.) To help share in the joy were three happy couples in love: Luna and RJ, Brooke and Ridge, and Katie and Carter. Each pair has their own special dynamic, but who is ready to follow in Donna and Eric’s footsteps and make it official? We are gunning for the couple with the long and winding history, Brooke and Ridge.
Brooke and Ridge’s Lasting Love
Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) have gotten hitched so many times — precisely eight (!) — that it’s hard to remember if they are married now or not. Certainly, “Bridge” is in a very affectionate phase since they reunited on that bridge in Italy. Not to say that Ridge is entirely competitive with his dad, but now that Eric married Donna (again), it could spur Ridge to tie the knot with Brooke.
It would be nice to see this beleaguered pair enjoy some happiness before the next obstacle gets in their way. Their differing views on the relationship of Hope (Annika Noelle) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) could become a real sticking point in their rekindled romance (recall when Hope asked for Brooke’s blessing here). Can’t we get them down the aisle first? We love seeing B&B’s leading lady Brooke in all her inventive wedding day entrances. Perhaps nothing can beat her riding to the ceremony on horseback back in 1994, but we are sure the writers can come up with another unique and fabulous way for Brooke and Ridge to marry.
Of course, the writers could go in a different direction and take another one of B&B’s glowing couples down the aisle. Luna (Lisa Yamada) and RJ (Joshua Hoffman) just consummated their relationship, so it would be very soon for these young lovebirds to marry. Katie (Heather Tom) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) barely get any air time and their relationship lacks some heat, so we don’t see that happening. Poppy (Romy Park) and Bill (Don Diamont) have some chemistry, but they have only gone on a few dates. Hope can’t give Thomas an answer to his proposal, so a marriage in the near future seems unlikely.
The one couple that could give Bridge a run for their money is Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) and Deacon (Sean Kanan). We have been missing them from the canvas for a while. Imaging their relationship, Sheila and Deacon are having crazy hot sex and tender moments in between. An impulsive, Las Vegas wedding would be just their kind of affair and a treat for viewers. Considering how little we have seen of them, that’s a thought for down the road.
Brooke recently had one hell of a time when Ridge chose Taylor (Krista Allen) over her. We enjoyed a happy Bridge reunion, but we didn’t get the full satisfaction of seeing them remarry. We hope that now is the perfect time for a big splashy wedding for Brooke and Ridge, and a lasting marriage to follow.
