The Bold and the Beautiful newcomer Deke’s family background has finally been revealed. The aspiring fashion designer is none other than Deacon Sharpe’s son, Little Eric. While his return is long overdue, there is one issue with Deke being Little Eric.
Deke’s Age
B&B fans were right when they guessed that Deke (Harrison Cone) is Deacon’s (Sean Kanan) son. On the September 17th episode, the closing credits had Cone listed as Deke Sharpe. Now that Deke’s family has been confirmed, it’s sparked lots of buzz.
While Deke’s return is a big surprise, there’s also a tiny issue. Fans pointed out that Deke is quite young, when he should be much older.
Deke was born in 1999 and is Deacon’s firstborn. In fact, Deke is the main reason Deacon first showed up in Los Angeles. Deacon became embroiled in a custody war with the Forresters over Deke. Deacon became a presence in his son’s life, but his focus soon shifted to his other child. In 2002, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) gave birth to her and Deacon’s daughter, Hope (Annika Noelle).
Based on B&B history, Deke should be older than his half-sister. However, now he appears to be younger than Hope. The age difference between the siblings is currently a hot topic on Reddit. “No way Eric Sharpe is younger than Hope Logan,” one fan wrote. “They made Zende younger than Thomas and Steffy. So, anything is possible at this point lol,” a viewer replied.
Soaps have a tendency to SORAS characters to make them older. There have also been cases where they de-age characters. A few examples are Cane (Billy Flynn) on The Young and the Restless and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) on Days of Our Lives.
While Deke’s age remains a key issue, the main focus now is on the drama his return brings. Will he be causing trouble for Deacon and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown)? Will he and Hope be feuding siblings? These are a few questions that will be answered as Deke’s story unfolds.
