The Bold and the Beautiful is best known for its trysts, affairs, and scandals, but there are friendships dotted among heartbreak and grand romance. They’re few and far between outside of family, but they exist nonetheless. Some of them have stood the test of time, betrayal, infidelity, and poor decision-making. While others were eyebrow raising at best and detrimental at worst. Let’s take a look at the ride-or-die friendships on B&B that have left lasting impressions.

Key Takeaways

  • Friendships that are heartwarming
  • Bonds that went too far
  • Former couples whose friendship survived the end of their marriage

Donna and Brooke

The Logan sisters are a trio, but there’s no doubt that Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) are closer. And we’re not just saying that because of the recent bad blood between Katie (Heather Tom) and Brooke. Donna has consistently taken their older sister’s side many a time, even when she should have been on the opposing team.

Sure, their bond is lopsided, but there’s no doubt that Donna would do anything for Brooke. And Brooke would likely reciprocate as long as it doesn’t interfere with her business or her destiny.

Ridge and Carter

Putting that nasty bit of business aside, where Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) stole Forrester Creations right from under Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), the co-CEO and COO are quite tight. They’re often seeking advice from one another about their love lives and rooting for the other to succeed.

As the unofficial designated officiant for the Forrester family, Carter has also officiated at significant ceremonies for Ridge, the most recent being Ridge’s spontaneous office wedding to Brooke. Ridge also stood up for Carter as his best man when he married his love, Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire).

Steffy and Daphne

It was clear Daphne would do anything for Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) when she was covertly brought in to end Carter and Hope’s (Annika Noelle) hostile takeover of Forrester Creations. The pseudo-honeypot operation brought the friends together stateside, and while it’s love that’s kept Daphne in the U.S., they’re a needed presence on B&B.

The soap opera has very few friendships that aren’t between family members or past loves, so it’s a welcome sight to see two women support one another in all areas of their lives. Daphne knew immediately that she wanted Steffy to be her matron of honor when she tied the knot with Carter, bringing the two even closer as friends.

Bill and Justin

If Bill (Don Diamont) has one friend in the world, it’s Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears), which suits him just fine. The pair had a story-changing falling out when Justin tried to steal Spencer Publications while Bill was in jail, but they’ve since reconciled.

They’ve been through a lot together, whether scheming or consoling one another through tragedy, and consider themselves to be brothers. When dirty work needs to get done, Bill knows who to call. These two are thicker and thieves and are liable to get up to know good when they set their mind to it.

Sheila and Mike

Admittedly, Sheila’s (Kimberlin Brown) friendship with Mike (Ken Hanes) is imbalanced, but their bond is decades old, even though Sheila mostly relies on her pal Mike when she finds him useful.

While it was ultimately Deacon (Sean Kanan) who got Sheila out of prison for good, Mike has done his fair share of ensuring his friend and the woman he loves sees freedom. He broke her out of jail when he was working as a correctional officer and, though he’s spending the rest of his life behind bars, he’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Vinny and Thomas

Vinny (Joe LoCicero) literally died for Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). Sure, it was a misguided attempt to use his last moments on Earth to force a reunion between his best friend and Hope (Annika Noelle) by framing Liam and Bill for vehicular manslaughter, but when Vinny said he’d do anything for Thomas, he meant it. Vinny was one of the only people outside of the Forresters who’d stuck by Thomas during his “dark era,” and Thomas was devastated by his death.

Ridge and Taylor

Romantically, Ridge and Taylor (Rebecca Budig) haven’t worked out. But there’s no doubt that the pair have a deep bond rooted in friendship and shared history. Whenever Taylor needs him, Ridge comes running. And when it comes to his sense of self and his family, it’s Taylor who knows Ridge best.

While Ridge has hurt Taylor so bad emotionally that she developed broken heart syndrome, he’s also the only person who could help her through that painful period in her life. Say what you will about their years of back-and-forth, Tridge does have a connection that neither of them seems to be able to let go.

Maya and Nicole

The Avant sisters made quite an impact when they were introduced to viewers through Nicole (Reign Edwards) paying an unexpected visit to Maya (Karla Mosley), which set the stage for her big sister to open up about being trans and why she left home at a young age.

They repaired their relationship, working through Nicole’s abandonment issues stemming from Maya’s departure, and became each other’s biggest supporters, aside from their spouses. Their bond strengthened so much that Nicole agreed to be the surrogate for Maya and her husband at the time, Rick Forrester (Jacob Young), so they could start a family. Through their ups and downs, the sisters have approached their relationship with love and a desire to understand each other’s perspectives.

Steffy and Liam

Like Tridge, Steffy and Liam’s romance didn’t work out, but their lives are forever entwined, and it’s not only because they have a child together. They seem to need to be in each other’s lives, finding a solid friendship after years of a back-and-forth in love that took a toll on both of them.

When Liam was navigating what he thought was brain cancer, Steffy stepped up. She moved him into her guest house and monitored him around the clock with her husband, Finn (Tanner Novlan), because Steam’s love doesn’t stop and start with whether or not they’re romantically involved. They’re best friends who love one another through thick and thin.

Sheila and Deacon

Though Deacon is doing Sheila dirty right now in his affair with Taylor, it’s undeniable that their friendship was one of the most surprising connections to develop on B&B, as well as one of the most worthwhile relationships to explore.

Sheila supported Deacon emotionally and financially when he was fresh out of jail, and they leaned on one another as they worked to be a part of their respective adult children’s lives. Deacon put himself on the line by ensuring Sheila wouldn’t see a jail cell again and followed his heart to find her when everyone thought she was dead. Their romantic bond is currently being tossed out with the bath water, but their friendship and what it grew into over time is one of the best storylines B&B has ever taken.
