Well, well, well… look who’s popped the question on Bold and the Beautiful. No, not Ridge. Taylor. That’s right, Dr. Taylor Hayes has decided she’s done waiting and wants to lock down her long-time, on-again-off-again almost-husband once and for all. On paper, this should be a no-brainer. Ridge has insisted for months that it’s Taylor he loves now. Not Brooke. Not anymore. Nope! Not ever again. Allegedly.
Taylor Popped the Question – Now What, Ridge?
But before we order champagne and book the honeymoon suite, let’s not ignore the glittery pink elephant in the room – this is Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) we’re talking about. Mr. Waffle. The man who’s spent three decades ping-ponging between two women like it’s his full-time job. And now Taylor (Rebecca Budig) wants to be the one to officially claim him again? Honey… are we sure?

Why He SHOULD Say Yes
Let’s start with the positives. Taylor is loyal, loving, and looks like a dream in pastel. She’s been through hell and back (mostly thanks to Ridge’s inability to commit), but somehow still wants him. She brings out Ridge’s softer, more grounded side. Together, they’ve raised kids, weathered scandal, and survived more resurrections than a Marvel movie. Maybe this proposal is the fresh start they need to finally get it right.
Plus, Ridge has said…many, many times…that he’s done with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). He’s tried to move on. He’s praised Taylor’s consistency, her patience, and her heart. If he’s being honest (a big if), then saying yes is just following through on what he claims to want.
Why He SHOULDN’T Even Think About It
Here’s the flip side. Taylor may have his heart now, but Brooke has his soul, and you know it. Every time Ridge says he’s over Brooke, he ends up sniffing around her porch the next time she sheds a tear. Is it love with Taylor or just a reaction to Brooke shutting the door (temporarily)? Because if his “I love you” comes with a Brooke-sized asterisk, Taylor’s just setting herself up for heartbreak all over again.

Also, when has Ridge ever made a clean break from either woman? This man collects broken promises the way Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) collects eye-rolls. Unless Ridge is truly, deeply, and permanently done with Brooke, saying “yes” to Taylor’s proposal is just painting a bullseye on his next emotional mess.
So…What’s the Verdict?
This could be Taylor’s fairytale…or her next disaster. If Ridge is finally ready to walk a straight line, she could get the life she’s waited for. But if he’s still dreaming about Brooke’s Logan glow, this marriage could crash before they cut the cake. Proceed with caution, Ridge. And maybe a prenup.
