The Bold and the Beautiful bid Luna goodbye back in November, but a new CBS video on YouTube compiling her best moments from 2025 doesn’t seem to suggest she’ll remain six feet under. It’s titled ‘Luna’s Playing with Fire,’ and its caption starts with, “As the year comes to an end, Luna’s story reaches a new level of intensity.” Could B&B fans see Lisa Yamada step back into the role of Forrester Creations’ murderous ex-intern? Let’s speculate!

Key Takeaways

  • The context of the scenes featured in the video.
  • How B&B closed the door on Luna…for now.
  • Why Luna could make a comeback.

B&B Is Keeping Luna in the Conversation

Though Luna (Yamada) met her untimely end before Thanksgiving, B&B has yet to let the character go. The collision that took her life opened the door to two major storylines.

Luna’s death was the catalyst for Katie’s (Heather Tom) fashion house arc due to The Forresters hiring a PR firm to take over her duties. It also brought Dylan (Sydney Bullock) back onto the soap. Luna had held her hostage while threatening Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and now Dylan’s the one who accidentally killed Luna. It’s put the art teacher in Electra (Laneya Grace) and Will’s (Crew Morrow) lives in a homeless plot that has the potential to become an obsession storyline.

Plus, one of CBS’ holiday videos for the soap, ‘A Very Forrester Christmas,’ included a scene from the 2023 episode where Luna, RJ (Joshua Hoffman), Zende (Delon De Metz), and Katie were looking at old photos of Eric (John McCook) and talking about his illness. With a new compilation video to boot, the notorious granddaughter of Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) is still very much a part of the soap’s plotting…or at least her memory is.

But the question remains: will Luna make a return? Judging by the scenes included in the compilation, it doesn’t look like a comeback is off the table.

CBS Highlights Luna’s 2025 Moments

‘Luna’s Playing with Fire’ focuses on 10 key scenes from the past year. The first is the moment Luna sneaks out of the Spencer Estate to go tell her dad, Finn (Tanner Novlan), that she’s alive. A big part of Luna’s arc this year was about her desire to have a relationship with the good doctor despite the double homicide she committed in 2024 and her intent to leave Steffy for dead to cover up her crimes.

Actions have consequences, but Luna had begged Steffy this year to let her and Finn have the father-daughter bond she’s always wanted. She shared that as a kid, all she wanted for her birthday was her father’s name so she could track him down. Luna had no clue that Finn, her cousin, was her dad all along. Of course, Luna expanded on her “tragic backstory” while holding a gun, so the tearjerker moment didn’t exactly play in her favor.

While Finn was initially sympathetic to Luna’s plight when he first learned she was his child, they’ve had a complicated relationship due to Luna’s criminal behavior. But in the two scenes included in the video—one where Finn tells her about his one night with Poppy (Romy Park) and the other with Luna hoping he’s glad she’s alive—it’s apparent they have a complex emotional tie.

Later in 2025, Luna fell pregnant after assaulting Will, which put her right back in The Spencers’ lives. She was convinced that, in time, they’d come around and accept her. But they firmly told her that would not be the case and that they’re concerned about the damage she’s done to Will and Electra’s relationship.

After once again being sent to prison, Poppy told Luna that Bill (Don Diamont) wouldn’t be coming to her rescue. So, Luna took matters into her own hands and escaped via the laundry. Interestingly, ‘Luna’s Playing with Fire’ doesn’t end with her death. The video’s concluding clip is of Luna asking Will to try to love her. She even says perhaps he already does. The compilation doesn’t close the book on her at all.

The Aftermath of Luna’s Death

Life has gone on as usual on B&B after Dylan hit Luna with her car. The Spencers had a memorial for the baby she and Will lost due to a miscarriage. Finn mourned. Dylan wasn’t shamed or ridiculed for the accident. And while Luna has been brought up in reference to the havoc she wreaked, those deeds are in the past. But it’s likely she won’t stay deceased on the soap.

Luna defied death once in 2025. Though that doesn’t mean she could do so again in 2026, she is a part of a lineage known for beating the odds. Sheila has referred to herself as having nine lives because she’s avoided the reaper’s scythe many a time.

It stands to reason her granddaughter may have inherited the same trait. Not to mention, a dead body not being shown on a soap opera and a funeral not being had tends to be the tell-tale sign that the writers are leaving the possibility open that they’ll make a return some way, somehow, especially if there’s audience interest.

Though Luna is a polarizing character, and there are fans who’d like to see her stay dead, there are also viewers who’ve been calling for her return. The compilation video’s comment section includes replies like, “Bring Luna back, made show much better. I do not believe she is dead,” and, “Good actress, Luna, bring her back please :).” There are fans who don’t believe she’s dead at all and are awaiting her come back.

We’ll have to stay tuned into B&B to see if Yamada takes yet another award-winning turn as Luna in 2026. Or is brought back in a twist that sees her embodying a lookalike for the drama of it all.
