Ivy is Electra’s voice of reason on The Bold and the Beautiful and that’s a good thing. The young jeweler is barely into her twenties already dealing with her boyfriend getting another woman pregnant. While the circumstances aren’t cut and dry, it doesn’t change the fact that the situation is heavy. Will has the support of his parents, it’s important that Electra has the support of her aunt.

Key Takeaways

  • Ivy’s right, Electra needs to think about her future
  • The paternity reveal will wake Electra up
  • Love won’t be enough to sustain a romance between Will and Electra

The Ball Is In Electra’s Court

The focus of this storyline has primarily been about Will (Crew Morrow) not wanting to lose Electra (Laneya Grace). But Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) is currently the only character who has made her a priority. She asked some tough questions of her niece on Friday, October 3’s episode of the soap. Her prodding was gentle but nonetheless firm. Electra needs to reflect on what Will’s becoming a father means for her own future.

Will has stated that his sole concern is Electra. But that’s not going to be sustainable once it’s confirmed Luna (Lisa Yamada) is carrying his baby. That’s a reality that Ivy wants Electra to contend with. She seemed unconcerned with the slither of hope that none of this is true. And didn’t show interest in allowing her niece to hide from what could very well be Will’s future.

Ivy’s advice was sound. Electra needs to figure out what she wants to do. What can she handle? People older than her wouldn’t be able to carry on a romance with a partner who has a baby on the way that’s not theirs. Asking such a feat of an early twentysomething is a lot even though that’s certainly what Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie (Heather Tom) are hoping she choose to do.

Even factoring in that Luna could very well be sent back to prison, it still leaves a child in the middle. Would Electra help Will navigate single fatherhood? Would she even want to? It would be difficult regardless of the baby’s mother, but tying herself to Will would mean Luna would always be a part of their lives in some capacity. Electra putting her head in the sand won’t change the circumstances she’s in.

A Wake Up Call

The week of October 6 on B&B will test Electra’s resolve. She’s secure in Will’s love for her. That’s what she’s been holding onto despite the hurt this situation has caused her. But disregarding Ivy’s advice will come with a rude awakening by the time Bridget (Ashley Jones) comes in to administer the paternity test.

Electra and the Spencers are holding their breath, waiting for this nightmare to come to an end. However, it’s not going to since the audience knows Luna is telling the truth. The test will simply confirm that Luna and Will are having a baby. Once that happens, how much Will and Electra love one another won’t matter as much.

It’ll weigh on their relationship even if Electra tries to stick it out. Hopefully, Electra will listen to her aunt and truly consider how this will impact her. If she doesn’t, reality is going to hit her like a ton of bricks. Because, whether she accepts it or not, her boyfriend’s first shot at fatherhood will be with her nemesis. And the great romance she thought she was in will sour. The writing is on the wall.
