The relationship between the Logan sisters on The Bold and the Beautiful is fracturing down the middle…and it’s about time! While Fall 2025’s reunited loves and family togetherness ushered us through the holiday season with warmth and cheer, it wasn’t going to be sustainable. This is a soap opera; there needs to be tension, and what better kindling to the fire than a fashion fight that isn’t a rehashed kerfluffle between the Forresters?
Viewers have been wanting a rival fashion house to emerge to keep the Forrester family on their toes. Unfortunately, that’s not the way the story went with Sally Spectra, who’s now over on The Young and the Restless. But Katie’s new company, Logan, is doing a fine job stirring up trouble, and she hasn’t even launched it yet.
Key Takeaways
- The tenuous bond between Katie and Brooke.
- Donna says she’s caught in the middle, but she tends to choose Brooke.
- How Eric’s involvement with Logan will make the situation worse.
Logan Exposes Katie and Brooke’s Fragile Relationship
What’s causing Katie (Heather Tom) and Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) relationship to crumble is Katie’s refusal to consider her sister’s feelings in her business decisions.
Brooke is not used to being the Logan that is put out by a choice that one of her younger siblings has made. As the eldest, she’s used to the deference Katie and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) tend to give her. That’s not happening with Katie’s Logan brand. Katie wants support, but she’s not asking for permission. That’s a whole new ball game for Brooke professionally, where she’s never had to share the spotlight.
Brooke gave herself away when she told Katie that she sees her as her little sister, always looking down at her from the window, wanting her life. She doesn’t see Katie’s dream as her own. Therefore, she doesn’t respect that the name Logan can belong to both of them in the fashion world. Brooke sees that as her domain, and Katie as essentially playing dress-up in her big sister’s clothes. It’s infantilizing and an indicator that Brooke doesn’t see Katie as her equal.
While Katie did bring up Bill (Don Diamont) and Brooke’s affair, what’s coming up between the sisters goes beyond that betrayal. It boils down to a lack of respect. The two have argued about the use of their name, but Brooke was skeptical about Katie’s company well before her sister bestowed their family name on it. She doesn’t see her as anything more than her little sister, who’s good at her job in the background, where she seems to believe she belongs. Katie is aiming to prove Brooke wrong.
Donna Isn’t in the Middle; She’s Team Brooke
As the middle sister, Donna has expressed over the years that she’s often felt caught in the middle whenever Brooke and Katie clash. But that’s not actually true. More often than not, Donna sides with Brooke even when she’s in the wrong. The most infamous example is when Brooke was pregnant with Bill’s baby, and Donna kept that secret for her, even taking part in a conversation in which Brooke tried to convince Eric (John McCook) to pretend the baby was his.
During the initial dust-up over Logan’s name, Donna tried to get her sisters to see reason. But the “compromise” she proposed would have had Katie changing the name of her business to suit Brooke’s sensibilities.
Donna tends to go along to get along. She was even written that way when Hope (Annika Noelle) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) stole her husband’s company out from under him. But with the writing making room for bad blood between the Logans to come through, we could see Donna finding her own voice in this story. She has some skin in the game, too, thanks to Eric’s decision to partner with Katie on Logan.
A Fashion War on the Horizon
Eric was pushed out of Forrester Creations by Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). Though his son tried to walk back, forcing him into retirement, it’s clear that Eric has no interest in being “allowed” back into his own company. As such, Katie’s endeavor is coming at a good time for him. He’s always been the creative mind behind FC. Stephanie (Susan Flannery) handled the business side of their empire. And that’s the kind of partnership he’s looking to cultivate with Katie.
She has admitted she’s not a designer and is in desperate need of a strong voice to lead the design team she intends to build. That’s where Eric comes in. Ridge said Katie doesn’t have a powerhouse to make Logan stand out. With Eric, she will, and she’ll have his decades of experience to lean on and learn from. It’s a win-win for the pair, since Eric’s passion for fashion hasn’t ebbed as he’s gotten older. He’s still sketching and spilling over with ideas.
But there is an issue. While Katie thinks it was ridiculous that he was even retired, Donna doesn’t want her husband to work at the pace he once did. She wants to travel with him and wile away the days together in rest and relaxation. It’s the exact opposite of what Eric wants.
His health is of chief concern to his family, but he doesn’t like that they just expect him to hang up his hat. It’s not going to go over well when everyone is brought up to speed about his new role as Logan’s lead designer.
Ridge and Brooke have already accused Katie of stealing from them. A partnership with Eric would grow that sentiment a thousandfold, even though it’s Eric’s decision. Once they learn that these two intend to be a powerful duo, the sparks that have been flying will catch fire. A storyline like this has some real stakes, and it’s exactly what B&B needs to start off the year right.
