Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
Big news on The Young and the Restless casting front. Michael Mealor is heading home to Genoa City as Kyle Abbott, and it’s long-term. The actor, who took over the role of Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son in 2018 and left the show in August 2021, has made several quick appearances since then.
There’s no word how Kyle’s wife, Summer, will be addressed. There’s been no announcement about Hunter King returning to the show.
In a shocking move, Susan Walters has resurrected Diane Jenkins. The character was killed off the soap opera in 2011, while being portrayed by Maura West (Ava, General Hospital). Walters originally played Diane from 2001 to 2004, and again, briefly, in early 2010.
Over at General Hospital, Kin Shriner pops in as Scott Baldwin on Monday, March 28. Look for Scott Baldwin to offer advice to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith makes an appearance as Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) trusted security advisor, Brick, on Friday, April 1. Look for Sonny to request the character’s services regarding a special matter.
After a brief absence on the soap opera, Inga Cadranel is back on the scene as Harmony Miller. Priscilla Garita (ex-Gabi, Sunset Beach) had subbed for Cadranel for several episodes.
Bruce Beatty takes over the role of Seth Burns, the administrator at Salem University Hospital on Days of our Lives. The character was previously played by Ken Colquitt, who appeared sporadically from 2013 to 2017. DAYS marks Beatty’s second soap opera stint. He previously portrayed Judge Warren on General Hospital in 2018.
George DelHoyo is back as Orpheus on Monday, March 28. He’ll share scenes with Dan Feuerriegel’s EJ at Statesville Prison.
Please note that air dates may be subject to change.
