The Bold and the Beautiful’s Jacob Young (Rick) left the show when he was a boy in 1999, but he returned several years later, and now he’s a grown man who’s celebrating his 38th birthday this weekend!
A family man not only on B&B but also in real life, Young made his B&B debut as a teen Rick in 1998 at Ridge and Brooke’s first legal wedding. He’s come a long way since then!
My Babysitter, My Lover
Young became an instant teen heartthrob on B&B and was thrust into a storyline with pal/rival C.J. Garrison (Mick Cain) and have-not bad girl Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz), who started out as his babysitter and then became his lover!
After Rick was injured in a car accident partially caused by Amber, she chose to donate one of her kidneys to him, saving Rick’s life, and bonding them forever in the process.
All My Children
Amber secured an additional role in Rick’s life after she became pregnant with his child, but sadly, that child was stillborn. Coincidentally, Amber’s cousin Becky had given birth around the time of Amber’s due date and Amber managed to take custody of Becky’s son and pass him off as hers and Rick’s.
Eventually, the truth came out prompting Rick and Amber to split.
By this time, Young had left B&B, but the actor was far from done with soaps. First, he joined the cast of General Hospital as a recast Lucky, son of legendary couple Luke and Laura.
After that stint ended, Young moved to New York where he assumed the role of JR Chandler, son of Pine Valley bad guy Adam Chandler on All My Children and good girl Dixie Cooney.
Everything Bold Is New Again
