Execs at The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) are adding two new hunks to the show. One will add intrigue to Sheila’s on-going pursuit to get rid of Quinn while the other appears to be for the younger set!
TV Insider reports that Francisco San Martin of Jane the Virgin fame, but perhaps best known to daytime fans as the first Dario on Days of Our Lives is joining the show as Mateo, Eric’s hunky estate manger. The other role, yet to be cast, is for the character of Chase, who’s in his early 20s.
Move Over Ridge
Perhaps frustrated by Ridge not putting any (more) moves on Quinn, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) will see that Mateo could be an ally in her efforts to once more become Mrs. Eric Forrester. TV Insider reports that Sheila “recruits (Mateo) to seduce her arch-rival Quinn.”
The Chase Is On
A casting breakdown has gone out for the role of Chase. The role is described as a male Caucasian, 20 years old and “at least” 5’10 in height.
“Chase is handsome and well educated,” the description goes on to read. “He’s artistic, ambitious and charismatic. He’s easy going but will stand up for himself when needed.”
It’s not likely this is a Thomas recast since that character is older than 20. Perhaps it’s for a young man to create a love triangle with R.J. and Coco? The part of Chase is set to be a contract role and, of course, he needs to be “physically fit” — according to the release.
There was no start date for the role, but if the show casts him soon we could see Chase (if that’s the name the show goes with) onscreen sometime in mid to late October.
