Last week’s cliffhanger with Quinn coming upon Sheila Carter in Katie’s house on The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) was reminiscent of classic Friday cliffhangers for which soaps are famous!
Quinn (Rena Sofer) decided to check out Katie’s abode to find evidence that the youngest Logan sister was responsible for the shooting attempt on her life.
B&B set up the shocking reveal perfectly. First, we saw Katie (Heather Tom) go to new heights with her dislike towards Quinn, a woman she knows is not 100% loyal to her husband, and actually pull a gun on Wyatt’s mom.
It certainly would have been believable if the writers had taken Katie in this direction.
Baby, She’s Back!
Quinn discovering Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) caught many by surprise while at the same time it all made perfect sense given Sheila’s past as being, shall we say, “dependent” on Eric’s love.
It seems that 61% of Soap Hub voters were surprised B&B kept this under wraps, voting, “I can’t believe they kept the secret.”
But should it have been a surprising surprise? After all, B&B has a solid history of keeping such secrets.
The show — and its ace publicity team — stopped Oliver’s major faux pas (when he accidentally slept with Brooke and not Hope as he intended) from getting out ahead of time.
Another instance of maintaining secrecy was when Nicole shared with Maya that she wasn’t her sister — she was, in fact, her brother!
Others Weigh in on Sheila
Despite these examples, a surprisingly small number of voters, only 9%, voted that they weren’t surprised at all. Perhaps this number is so low because in this age of social media most everything ends up leaking out — but not at B&B.
A larger number, some 29%, didn’t weigh in on whether or not they were surprised, but voted to express their dismay that Sheila has been brought back at all.
