The life of a soap star isn’t always wonderful as The Bold and the Beautiful actress Heather Tom (Katie Logan Spencer) knows. She experienced personal attacks on social media recently. Some fans clearly despise the character she portrays on the show.

Stars Are People Too
Earlier this week, Tom took to Twitter to remind fans that real people stand behind daytime characters. Obviously, fans dislike Katie Logan Spencer. However, their attacks often veer towards the personal. These aggressive words cause pain to the actresses and actors who portray the characters.

Words can hurt. It’s such a simple truth, but one so tough to remember on social media sometimes. Fans should remain aware that stars often read comments. When the criticism gets personal, it causes real life distress. Ultimately, the golden rule should apply here as it applies in other areas of life.

Fans Supportive on Social Media
Daytime’s best share with fans on social media, and fans usually love getting a peek into their lives. Thankfully for Tom, many soap fans offered kind words of support.
