[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith Chris McKenna starting his run on The Bold and the Beautiful this week, we thought we’d help B&B fans get to know this new face a little better with a rundown of his very soapy history.
1. Award Nominated
McKenna was nominated for the Young Artist Award for Best Youth Actor in a Soap Opera in 1993 and 1004. He was also a top pick for Soap Opera Digest’s Outstanding Child Actor award in 1993. Although he didn’t win either time, his talent was recognized.
2. One Life to Live
McKenna played the role of Joey Buchanan on One Life to Livefrom 1990-1993. He was the first actor to play Joey after the show SORAS’d him into a teen. One crucial moment came when Joey supported best friend Billy when he admitted her was gay.
3. 90210
In 2011, McKenna made a return to soap-style drama when he played Patrick Westhill on the primetime drama 90210. The show was a remake of the popular 90s teen show Beverly Hills, 90210. He was a key character in the final two seasons.
4. Young and the Restless
McKenna became a Y&R fan favorite when he landed the recurring role of Detective Mark Harding in 2014. While fans fell in love with his rugged good looks, bantering with Kevin, and short-lived romance with Abby, his stay wasn’t long. Harding was murdered in 2015 after being revealed as The Cabin Killer.
5. Bold and the Beautiful
On Thursday, March 3, McKenna’s debuts on B&B as Katie’s new doctor. Spoilers tease he’ll get close to her as he helps her overcome her latest emotional troubles. While we don’t’ know how long McKenna will stick around, his fans hope his stay won’t be brief.
