Maya may no longer be a Forrester bride and she may be regulated to the company’s Parisian outpost but actress Karla Mosley certain has a reason to celebrate.
That’s because she was born on August 27, 1981, in Susquehanna Depot, PA, meaning that she is turning 38 years old today! Mosley was raised in Westchester, New York and attended New York University’s Tisch School of Performing Arts, a prestigious institution from which she graduated with honors.
While still in college, Mosley joined the American remake of Hi-5, a popular Australian children’s TV show. Mosley performed in a segment called “Body Move” in which she led viewers through a silly calisthenics routine.
The actress left the program in 2005 to pursue other acting endeavors and after trying out for All My Children and appearing as a background person on As the World Turns, she struck gold and was hired at Guiding Light in the role of Christina Boudreau. Sadly the role would last for less than a year and Mosley would have to seek other work after the soap was canceled.
In 2013, Mosley landed a part on another CBS daytime drama, this time joining the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful as Maya Avant. In a shocking storyline, it was revealed that Maya was a transgender woman and in 2015 BB made daytime drama history when it united Maya and Rick Forrester in holy matrimony.
Outside of her soap opera roles, Mosley is also known for guest-starring on primetime series such a Battle Creek, Gossip Girl, and Hart of Dixie. She also received critical acclaim for her work in the off-Broadway play Expatriate.
