As viewers know, Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton) are mourning the loss of baby Beth, having been told by gambler Dr. Reese Buckingham (Wayne Brady) that she died. In reality, Reese sold the baby to Taylor (Hunter Tylo) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Noelle and Clifton are turning in daily tour de force performances as young parents mourning the loss of their child. Meanwhile, baby Beth, now baby Phoebe, is separated from them, but she’s not in any harm. In fact, she’s being taken care of by those around her.

Baby Come Back
Despite this, most of you are over this story that hasn’t really been going on all that long. Nearly 85% of you say, yes, the story’s getting under your skin and you want it over!

Soaps have accelerated their storytelling over the years. They’re trying to find the balance between elongating a tale to keep viewers on the edge of their seats and bringing it to a conclusion before they tune out. But this tale is just getting started!
