Ashley Jones’ character, Bridget, on The Bold and the Beautiful, has worked in both the fashion and medical fields during her tenure on the half-hour soap. The recurring player is set to make an appearance on the show in the near future and her wardrobe indicates she’ll be leaning into Bridget’s career as a doctor.
Welcome Back, Ashley Jones
“Nov. 2nd… @boldandbeautifulcbs,” Jones posted referring to her air date, Monday, November 2. “Do you think it’s to let you know Bridget’s alive and well or a preview for more to come? 💙 #boldandbeautiful #cbsdaytime #veryquickvisit next week #bridgetforrester #amourgloireetbeauté #ashleyjones.”
As Jones has added the hashtag “#veryquickvisit,” it’s safe to say that Jones will be in and out during this trip. She’s either teasing that it’s a medical issue that prompts Bridget’s return — or perhaps she is just using her prop I.D. as a tease and it’s more of a fashion emergency that causes her to come back.
BB fan Matt Hanvey responded to Jones’ post by saying: “Hopefully she’ll stick around & make sure her daddy [Eric, John McCook] doesn’t take Quinn [Rena Sofer] back!” Jones chuckled back: “On it, buddy lol.”
Jones first made the soap scene as Megan Dennison on The Young and the Restless in 1997. She played that role for a few years, scoring a few Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. She took a short break from soaps, but then returned to daytime as Bridget, the role previously played by Jennifer Finnigan.
During Jones’ tenure on BB, Bridget’s danced around a relationship with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), with whom she has no blood ties, and more significant romances with Nick (Jack Wagner) and Owen (Brandon Beemer). Bridget shares a son with Owen; the child may have the single coolest name ever given to a soap character — Logan Knight!
One of Jones’ most powerful moments on BB was when she demanded that Stephanie (Susan Flannery) apologize to her mother, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), for lying about her heart attack, which helped prompt Ridge to break up with Brooke and return to Taylor (Hunter Tylo), thinking he was honoring his mother’s (potentially) dying wishes.
After Jones left BB, she recurred on General Hospital as Parker Forsyth, Kristina’s (Lexi Ainsworth) college professor with whom she had a relationship. You’ll have to tune in to see what brings Bridget back to town. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
