Aaron D. Spears has played Justin Barber on The Bold and the Beautiful for a decade. He’s still with the show, but now there’s been a status change that could possibly affect his air time.
Aaron D. Spears: Goodbye For Now?
The actor has confirmed social media reports that he’s been taken off contract at the half-hour show. Spears has gone on and off-contract before while still continuing to appear on a regular basis as Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) confidante and partner-in-crime.
Fans have taken to social media to express their support for Spears and the actor is reaching back out to them, thanking viewers for their backing — and suggesting that perhaps there’s story to come for his BB character.
“Until I own my own show, I really can’t be mad or upset with what someone chooses to do with theirs…” Spears tweeted in response to a fan, who was disheartened to learn the actor was taken off-contract. “[It’s] unfortunate but it is what it is… appreciate your support.”
Another BB fan was hoping that we’d be seeing more of Justin in light of Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson) role in the vehicular death of Justin’s niece Emma (Nia Sioux). Of course, it can’t be ruled out that Justin won’t someday go after justice for his late relative. “Perhaps the future shows promise,” Spears mused in response to a fan, who wanted to see that story development.
BB has placed Spears back on contract in the past and that may happen again. In the meantime, the actor will likely recur on the show as story dictates. Spears can be seen later this month in the TV movie London Mitchell’s Christmas on Tuesday, December 24 at 6 p.m. ET, and Wednesday, December 25 at 10:30 a.m. ET on Aspire. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
