The past year has been one of growth and fulfillment for “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Maya Avant. She’s faced her share of hills, valleys, and unknown territory. With the birth of her and Rick’s son last week, things have come full circle for this B&B beauty.
“Bold and the Beautiful’s” official Twitter account posted a link to a photo remembrance of things past since Maya’s (Karla Mosley) first appearance on the show in 2013. It reminds us that we all have a special, one-of-a-kind story to tell.
Maya came to town looking and feeling a tad worse for the wear. She wanted to find the daughter she gave up for adoption. Devastation followed, as Maya learned the child died in a car accident along with the parents who adopted her.
Happier times followed for the eldest Avant sister when she met Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) at Dayzee’s coffee shop. However, when you romance one of LA’s most eligible men, watch out.
Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) wanted Rick for herself and continually created obstacles for the couple. Even Bill (Don Diamont) joined in the interference and blackmailed Maya into leaving Rick, with the help of some misleading pics of her with an ex.
While starring in web series, “Room 8,” Maya and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) fell for each other. The two became engaged soon after. Carter broke it off with Maya because of her own attempts at manipulating Oliver Jones’ and Aly Forrester’s relationship.
When that door closed, it opened the door to rekindle things with Rick. Feeling in her heart that Rick was the one for her, Maya told him that she was transgendered, having transitioned from Myron to Maya. This private information reached others and Maya had to deal with taxing consequences.
To further complicate things, Maya’s parents came to town. Her father, Julius (Obba Babatunde), still struggled with the reality of her true identity.
At a Forrester Creations fashion show, Rick surprised Maya with a proposal, and she said yes. At their wedding, Maya overheard her father voicing his harsh thoughts about his eldest daughter. She spoke her mind and stood up for herself, and then she married the man she loved.
The two soon decided they wanted a child. Maya turned to her beloved younger sister, Nicole (Reign Edwards), and asked her to be their surrogate. The generous Nicole agreed! Last week, that baby came into the world.
What a whirlwind, Maya Avant! Thank you to B&B for posting this reminder that life is an ever-changing thing. However, if we persevere we can realize all our heart’s desires, growing and learning along the way!
