When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of BB’s week that was.

The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic’s Week In Review

Here we are, at the tail end of May Sweeps, and BB has decided to once again give us a solid week featuring only storyline…and it’s NOT the one that fans of the show are clamoring for.

They want Quarter. They got Liam (Scott Clifton) blowing up his happy home, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) going on ad nauseam about PDV (Poor Dead Vinny), and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) telling all and sundry that her daughter was getting laid.

Seriously…what is up with Brooke’s obsession with Hope’s (Annika Noelle) sex life? She giddily informed Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) that his step-daughter was *ahem* reuniting with her estranged husband as they spoke; she discussed it with Donna (Jennifer Gareis) over the telephone; she as good as told Flo the next morning.

And she would have probably rubbed the fact in Thomas’s face if he hadn’t taken off for the cabin – and just sauntered on inside, like his ex and her current hubby might not be right in the middle of intimate relations – thanks for that heads up Ridge. Perhaps your wife’s preoccupations are rubbing off on you as well.

Then Thomas, after failing to catch Hope and Liam in the act, goes on his merry way to Spencer Publications, ostensibly to be interviewed for an article in Eye on Fashion, and then he goes to Bill’s (Don Diamont) office because…yea, we got nothing. Just because, we guess.

Thomas quickly learned the error of his ways, but we still believe that in the midst of all that corpse shaming that Bill was engaging in, he should have brought up an actual victim, PDE (Poor Dead Emma). Yes, when Thomas finally pays for that, then we will concern ourselves with his crusade for justice for Vinny.

But all those many digressions aside, we must say that having Liam finally fess up to his part in Vinnygate was a twist we didn’t see coming. And the icing on the cake? He just threw his father right under the proverbial bus sans hesitation. Now, it’s going to be mighty interesting to see what Saint Hope does with all this information.

Further BB Musings

* Anyone else out there in the soapspehere have the sneaking suspicion that it might actually be Wyatt (Darin Brooks), as opposed to Hope, who brings the whole sorry, and sordid, Vinny saga out into the light?

Say what you will about this shows fourth greatest waffler (What? Didn’t you know the order goes Ridge, Liam, Bill, and then Wyatt?), but he’s a tenacious little feller. He knows that something’s afoot with his dad and brother. And if there’s anyone who can get to the bottom of it, it’s Wyatt.

* Show of hands, who else recalls the days when Forrester Creations was the hub of gossip? Shouldn’t someone, anyone be curious about identifying Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) mystery woman? Hasn’t the rumor mill picked up the story about his and Shauna’s (Denise Richards) “hot and heavy fling?” Does anyone know that Zoe (Kiara Barnes) finally browbeat the poor man into taking her back as a fiancée?

Oh, that’s right. In the world of BB today, only one story can reign supreme, and the only word currently on the streets is that Hope Logan got lucky with her legally wedded husband. Snoresville! The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
