She’s dynamic. She’s fun. She’s sexy. She’s Steffy. We’re talking about, of course, Emmy-winning actress Jacqueline MacInnes Wood who plays Stephanie “Steffy” Forrester on The Bold And The Beautiful.
While BB fans know a lot about the character she brings to life, they may not know a lot about the actress who plays her. Here are five fun facts about Wood that you may not know!
Oh, Canada!
Wood hails from Windsor, Ontario. Her parents are Alexandra (Sandie) MacInnes and James C. Wood. Her great uncle was singer Alasdair Gillies. Wood studied at acting at Ryerson University.
BOLD Birthday
The actress was born the same year that BB debuted — 1987. And, technically, she’s a bit younger than the show. BB premiered on March 23 while Wood came into the world on April 17.
Family First
Steffy’s love life may be haywire at times, but off-screen Wood and Elan Ruspoli have been wed since July 2018. The couple welcomed a baby boy, Rise, in March 2019. The actress is a supporter of organizations devoted to pet rescuing.
Brief Breaks
Here and there, Wood has taken short leaves from BB. During her times away from the half-hour soap, she’s shot other projects including South Beach, Anger Management, and Castle.
In 2013, she started hosting the show Party On! Earlier this year, Wood took a short hiatus from BB to go on maternity leave. While Steffy was in Paris, Wood was home bonding with Rise.
Hostess With The “Mostess”!
Ask any of her BB co-stars and they’ll tell you that Wood throws a great party. That’s going to come in handy next year when she, as this year’s winner for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series, hosts the luncheon for the top actress nominees.
The tradition of the previous winner holding a gala for the following year’s contenders was started by Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie), Woods’ TV grandmother! The Bold And The Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
