He’s a Grade-A teenager with a heart of gold, who’s devoted to his family and friends. She’s a nasty outcast, who’s been the epitome of the mean girl since arriving in Port Charles. Cameron and Esme are polar opposites. However, they’re the couple General Hospital has been setting up for over a year and it totally works.
General Hospital About Face
Since regaining consciousness after her second tumble off the parapet at Wyndemere, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) has undergone a complete metamorphosis. She has no memory of her past or her long list of misdeeds. She’s completely lost, and discovering she was pregnant with no recollection of her baby daddy only added to her confusion.
Suddenly, Esme’s sympathetic. It’s hard not to feel sorry for anyone whose biological parents are the diabolical Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and the insane Heather Webber (Alley Mills). She’s gone from being the town pariah to a vulnerable unwed mother with a new baby boy and no clue what to do next.
GH: Enter Cameron
Cameron (William Lipton), fresh from his breakup with Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and in dire need of something to divert his attention, is the perfect guy to swoop in to save Esme. He’s a caretaker by nature. After all, he’s been the man of the house for years, helping his mother look after his younger brothers, Jake and Aiden.

He’s also the only teen in town who’s not currently paired up, which makes him the logical choice to be drawn into Esme’s world. Who better to help her with her baby boy than the levelheaded young man who’s helped raise his brothers? Cameron’s also always been good-hearted and compassionate, so it makes sense that he’d be intrigued by the kinder gentler Esme and open to forgiving her past crimes.
The Next General Hospital Step
The writing is on the wall for Esme to move in with her uncle, Kevin (Jon Lindstrom), and his wife, Laura (Genie Francis), who also happens to be Esme’s baby’s grandmother. Laura has also been Cameron’s grandmother figure since he was born, so he’d have plenty of reason to stop by and visit. It likely wouldn’t take long for him to get swept up in the newly needy Esme’s life and form a bond with her son. It’s a coupling and storyline that’s just waiting to be told.
