Tobias Truvillion, who played Vincent on One Life to Live, appears on a sudsy legal drama on BET titled In Contempt. The series features stars Erica Ash of MADtv fame as an attorney in New York City.
Ash’s character, Gwen Sullivan, is a passionate lawyer who defends clients who can’t afford legal aid. Her problematic personal life comes into play as she is fighting for justice for her clients!
Truvillion plays Bennett Thompson, who was Gwen’s law professor in college. Now, he’s a crime novel writer living in the Big Apple so they interconnect.
Will romantic sparks fly between Gwen and Bennett? Count on it!
As longtime OLTL fans recall, Vincent came to Llanview to continue the business of his late father. He found friendships with Natalie (Melissa Archer), Shaun (Sean Ringgold), and Cristian (David Fumero), who hired Vincent as his boxing manager.
After Vincent rigged a fight in which Cristian’s hand was broken, he was fired from the managing gig! Also, Vincent dated Layla (Tika Sumpter), but she broke up with him after she learned what he’d done to Cristian.
Natalie turned to Vincent for comfort after she mistakenly believed that John (Michael Easton, now Finn on General Hospital) died in a car accident. Eventually, Nat and John were reunited.
Later, Layla and Vincent renewed their romance, however, their reunion didn’t last long. Layla later discovered that Vincent was seeing another woman so they broke up and he left town.
After OLTL, Truvillion went on to appear in Empire as Dere Major, The Blacklist, Persons of Interest, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Blue Bloods.
There’s another connection between In Contempt and the daytime world. Actor Richard Lawson (ex-Lucas Barnes, All My Children) plays Earl, Gwen’s father.
