As the grief over Sam settles on General Hospital, Lucas found comfort from an unexpected source of the November 7, 2024 episode.
Lucas (Van Hansis, who recently joined GH) was not only the surgeon who operated on Sam (ex-Kelly Monaco), but he had to be the one to pronounce her dead after 30 minutes of trying to revive her. While Portia (Brook Kerr) remained concerned over allowing Lucas to operate on his sister, Lucas has slowly been spiraling.
After throwing himself back into work, it wasn’t long until Brad (Parry Shen) caught on to his ex-husband’s attempts at denying his grief. When he approached him in the locker room, Lucas tried pushing Brad away, not because of their history, but because he couldn’t face the fact Sam could be dead because of him.
Brad wound up being a listening ear for Lucas to vent to about the surgery, worrying he never should have agreed to be her surgeon in the first place. As Brad attempted to comfort his ex, he pulled Lucas into his arms, and Lucas didn’t fight the connection for the first time since returning to Port Charles and being back in Brad’s orbit.

Things took a sour turn when Carly (Laura Wright) barged in and demanded Brad stay away from her brother. Lucas assured her it was innocent, but Carly knew she needed to remind Lucas not to get any closer to the man who hurt their family.
