Sharon was recently kidnapped on The Young and the Restless, and shockingly, she’s kidnapped again. This time, Phyllis is also captured with her. This is an unexpected twist in the storyline, and even actress Sharon Case was surprised. However, this is how Y&R fixes the drama between Sharon and Phyllis.

Redemption

Sharon set up Daniel (Michael Graziadei) by framing him for Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder. She also dumped Heather’s body. It’s no surprise that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) isn’t interested in letting bygones be bygones. Sure, Sharon was drugged by Ian (Ray Wise) and Jordan (Colleen Zenk), but in Phyllis’ eyes, that doesn’t mean Sharon is blameless in the situation.

Stafford and Case spoke with TV Insider about the situation. “I appreciate the story because there was nowhere for Phyllis and Sharon to go; it was the apex of their discord,” Stafford said. “Something had to happen from that. There’s no way Phyllis is ever going to say, ‘Oh, it’s OK that you hid the bloody towels. I’m over it.’ And no way that Sharon is going to be OK with not being forgiven and just moving on. When they see each other, it would be difficult. So, I think this story that we’re doing really fixes that.”

Case explained how things went for Sharon and Phyllis. “We felt like the characters thought, ‘Maybe we are supposed to work together.’ And sometimes they feel the opposite, that this is an every-man-for-themselves situation, which is very real,” She said. “Over the course of the entire storyline, we’re put in a lot of rough situations, we go through every different kind of emotion, and our relationship changes over and over.”

“This [storyline] carries on, and it does take some interesting turns and arcs,” previewed Case. “It changes the characters and propels them forward. This is really going to be fun and interesting and a great ride for the audience. When Josh Griffith writes this way, it’s a treat. You have to tune in for this one.”

We know Phyllis surprised Sharon by helping out when Sharon had breast cancer a few years back. However, for a while now, these two haven’t been frenemies, much less friends. Perhaps this will be a new era for Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) ex-wives. What do you think about the whole thing?
