As expected, Tate and Holly’s relationship blew up over Tate snitching on Doug. But in the Thursday, March 27 episode of Days of Our Lives, Holly said there was more to the breakup.
They’re Done…Right?
While it wasn’t Tate’s (Leo Howard) secret to tell, Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) needed to find out that Doug III (Peyton Meyer) stole her necklace somehow. It took him long enough to do it. Unfortunately for Julie, this whole ordeal isn’t over because Melinda (Tina Huang) quickly unloaded the valuable piece of jewelry, which sounds like something Melinda would do.
And now Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Tate needed to hash things out. Tate was worried about how Holly would react, and he should have been. Because she was privy to Doug’s thoughts and feelings of guilt for the last few months, she felt bad for the guy, even though what he did was terrible. However, she clearly took his side.

She told Tate he ratted Doug out because he was jealous, but he insisted it was because he wanted to keep her out of trouble. They were both right. After all, Melinda gave JJ (Casey Moss) Holly’s name, so the cop will undoubtedly seek Holly out to corroborate. Her knowing and not telling anyone could be construed as aiding and abetting, which wouldn’t be good for Holly.
Tate calling up and telling Julie about Doug and the necklace cleared things up for Holly. She realized that maybe they weren’t meant to be. He had a chance to tell her what he did the day before, but that didn’t happen. Plus, the whole chaos with Sophia (Rachel Boyd), the pregnancy, and the search for a couple to adopt was too much for Holly. She said maybe their mothers were right about them and that a relationship shouldn’t be this hard or face so many obstacles. They were done. But will it stick?
Meanwhile, the conversation between Doug III and Sophia in the middle of Horton Town Square was pretty great. The two finally met and quickly realized who the other person was. They called out each other for being invested in Holly and Tate’s breakup. It’s making us root for Doug to get that assistant manager job at The Bistro. Working together and scheming together could potentially be fun to watch.
