Sarah Michelle Gellar Witnessed Kelly Ripa Falling For Mark Consuelos

This sounds like something out of a soap opera. Sarah Michelle Gellar admits that she remembers when Kelly Ripa fell in love with Mark Consuelos on the set of All My Children. This was a special treat for fans who still love the classic soap to this day.

Love At First Sight

It was a mini AMC reunion on Live! with Kelly and Mark on Tuesday, December 10. Sarah recalled the time when Kelly met husband, Mark Consuelos. The two got married in 1996, and it shows… in a good way. The couple is not tired of each other.

They’ve made their work marriage work. Kelly and Mark invited fans into their NYC townhouse. (Check Out Their ‘French Fantasy’ Here.) Fans couldn’t stop raving about their chemistry.

Sarah can see that the two are still in love. She shared the very moment when she witnessed Kelly falling for her AMC onscreen love interest. This took place behind the scenes rather than in a heated love scene. “I will never, ever forget the story — this is a true story, you can tell me if I tell it wrong — but I was, I guess I was in the hair and makeup,” Sarah explained.

Kelly entered the dressing room with rollers in her hair. She exclaimed that “the most beautiful man” walked onto the set. Mark was unaware of Kelly’s sudden feelings for him. Sarah remarked that Kelly “couldn’t speak” when they first met despite being an extrovert.

“She literally saw you, and this girl is never at a loss for words. She was at a complete loss for words,” Sarah told Mark.

Kelly laughed and said, “Thank God I recovered.” Mark was cast on AMC in 1995 as Mateo Santos. The character was an onscreen love interest for Kelly’s Hayley Vaughan. Kelly recalls the first time she saw Mark’s headshot. She felt that her “entire future” flashed before her eyes.

That’s when she knew he was the one. It was a different experience for Mark. While he recalled that Kelly was “adorable, hot and sex, and all that stuff,” he thought he didn’t have a shot with her. Mark decided not to pursue a romance.
