Fans of Linden Ashby and Susan Walters, who play Cameron and Diane on The Young and the Restless, know that the duo is wed in real-life. Even though Cameron’s main focus in Genoa City is Sharon, Soap Hub hears that there will be some interplay between Cameron and Diane — both of whom have recently been sprung from jail!
Linden Ashby: A Little Ditty About Cameron & Diane
Y&R isn’t going to be able to resist having Linden Ashby and Susan Walters cross paths on-screen once more. “It’s not a huge interaction this time,” previews Ashby, who says that Cameron has bigger fish to fry while he’s back in town. “[But] yes, I do get to work with her.
“I’m really there for one or two things,” he says in character. “I’m there to get what I want and maybe get some payback.” On getting to share some air time with Walters, Ashby wryly adds of his talented mate, “I like that girl. She’s got a future.”

Veteran soap fans recall Ashby and Walters met and first acted together on the ABC soap opera Loving, which ran from 1983 to 1995. Ashby assumed the role of troubled rich guy Curtis Alden while Walters had created the role of the impossibly spoiled, impulsive Lorna Forbes and was one of the show’s original cast members.
Both actors exited Loving in 1985 and found regular work in primetime TV. Ashby appeared regularly on The New Adam-12 (as Officer Honeycutt), Melrose Place (as Dr. Brett Cooper), and Days of our Lives (Paul Hollingsworth). He reprised his role as Sherriff Stilinski in Teen Wolf: the Movie earlier this year.
Walters recurred on The Flash as Dr. Carla Tannhauser and was a series regular on the short-lived gothic-themed serial Point Pleasant (opposite Richard Burgi, ex-Ashland). In 1988, she starred as Priscilla Beaulieu Presley in the TV movie Elvis and Me, based on Priscilla’s memoir of her life with the late legendary singer.
Linden Ashby: Class Reunion
Diane may want to be thankful that her interaction with Cameron is set to be brief. Cameron appears to be bent on getting revenge against Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon. The former husband and wife have already pieced together that Cameron is once again a threat. Just how much of a threat remains to be seen!
