Steffy Forrester Finnegan, played by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, has a lot at stake on The Bold and the Beautiful. She needs to know that her brother Thomas and her ex-rival Hope get along, produce a solid fashion line, and not create any work-office drama! Wood tells Soap Hub why she feels that — for now — things are on track.
Steffy’s ex, Liam (Scott Clifton), has been visiting Forrester Creations a bit more often these days now that Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) is working alongside his wife Hope (Annika Noelle). Liam sought out support from Steffy to help assure him that everything was going to be okay. Wood says that Steffy’s not lying to Liam when she tries to keep him from going to worst-case scenarios.
“I think [Steffy] believes that there is a light at the end of the tunnel,” Wood says regarding Thomas being regarded as a threat. “She does see a big change in Thomas. He’s made a 180. There’s no longer the obsession with Hope anymore. He really is focused on making Hope for the Future better. She doesn’t believe there will be a human resources issue with Thomas.”
Viewers recall that time Liam, suspecting the worst between Hope and Thomas (when he was obsessed with the Hope mannequin), ran off and hopped into bed with a then-single Steffy. Now, however, Steffy, AKA Mrs. Finnegan, is unavailable for any romps.
“Liam’s in the ‘friend zone,’ for sure,” Wood notes. “Of course, she’s always going to love him, but it’s for their child [Kelly]. She’s looking out for Liam. Steffy has been through so much. She wants a moment of ease and wants to make sure he’s okay with Thomas being there. She’s trying to comfort and reassure Liam in the best way that she can.”
