Maurice Benard Exclusive Interview
Who makes you laugh?
Steve Burton and I just have a certain kind of relationship. It doesn’t take much, he just makes me laugh.
What’s the last thing you bought for yourself?
A brown wool Cole Haan jacket. It’s pretty nice – and I bought it at Target!
What’s the best advice your father ever gave you?
Don’t worry about things – what’s going to happen is going to happen.
What’s the last song you’ve caught yourself singing in the shower?
Oh what a night, late December back in ’63.
What quality is most important in a friend?
Trust.
What’s your current favorite TV show?
America’s Got Talent. It’s amazing the people who might not have anything and on this show, they have an opportunity to show the world what they can do. There is so much talent in the world that goes unrecognized. Oh, and The Bachelor.
Who is the most famous person you’ve ever met?
Probably Tom Hanks back in New York when I was on All My Children. Or Jack Nicholson, who I got to meet at a party.
Where’s the strangest place you’ve ever fallen asleep?
On the freeway, driving. Scariest thing. I learned never take a long drive when I didn’t have a nap.
Have you read any good books lately?
YES! Nothing General About It by Maurice Benard, it’s great.
What song would you like playing for your real-life death scene?
The Living Years by Mike + The Mechanics.
