Catching Up With Kin Shriner
What did you learn about yourself during those few months at home at the beginning of COVID?
That I should leave the haircuts to the professionals.
What’s the last gift that you bought for yourself?
Groceries, lately. But before the shutdown, I bought a nice white convertible – and it is just sitting in the driveway.
Favorite way to spend the weekend?
Watching whatever I have stockpiled all week long on my television.
What TV show would fans be surprised you never miss?
I never miss Real Time with Bill Maher – I watch it live every Friday night on the east coast feed.
What other riveting television do you watch?
I haven’t seen any riveting TV since Man From Uncle.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
The Bahamas. I’ve been going there since the 1950s – oh, that sounds like I’m old.
Is there any place you’ve always wanted to visit, but haven’t?
I think everyone has thought about going to Australia, but I don’t think that’s in my future. The closest I think I’ll get to Australia is Ingo Rademacher.
What is your favorite sport?
Ping Pong! I was the dorm champ in reform, um, I mean, boarding school.
What’s your favorite summer activity?
Riding down a dirt road on my Vespa.
Who is the last famous person you’ve met?
I just met William Daniels at the grocery store the other day. He couldn’t have been nicer.
Are you keeping in touch with your longtime friend Anthony Geary?
Yes, of course. Actually, I recently received a very nice email from Tony, he insisted that he thought of me while watching Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.’ Now that I think about it, as soon as it’s safe to travel again, I think I’d like to visit Amsterdam, again.
