What’s old is new again all over pop culture these days, and the Dynasty reboot is no exception. The cast has a slew of newcomers, but in a brilliant move, the show just went to a primetime soap powerhouse for their new Alexis — Nicollette Sheridan!
According to Variety, the role originally played played by the legendary Joan Collins (ex-Alex, Guiding Light) every Wednesday on ABC will now be played by another 80s primetime soap star.
After watching Dynasty, the next day you could turn the dial to CBS on Thursday and watch Sheridan knock it out of the park as Paige Matheson on Knots Landing–where she was once paired with former Days of Our Lives star Peter Reckell.
More recently, Sheridan played the town vixen on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, with Teri Hatcher (ex-Capitol), Richard Burgi (ex-Paul, General Hospital; ex-Another World), and Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella, The Young and the Restless).
If that wasn’t enough, Sheridan also soaped it up as Lucky Santangelo in the mini-series Lucky Chances, which co-starred Vincent Irizarry (ex-DAYS/Y&R/All My Children), Eric Braeden (Y&R), Michael Nader (ex-AMC), and former Ryan’s Hope heartthrob, Grant Show.
Sheridan will be reunited with Show on Dynasty. He plays Alexis’s ex-husband Blake Carrington and sparks are sure to fly. Also guesting on Dynasty is soap hopper (he’s been on every show currently airing), Rick Hearst, as well as Kelly Rutherford (ex-Generation).
Dynasty airs another new episode tonight on the CW at 9 pm/ 8 pm central.
