All soap operas have their Christmas traditions. There is the Horton Christmas tree on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), with the ornaments bearing names of Hortons there, and Hortons gone but not forgotten.
There is Victor (Eric Braeden) picking up a tiny Newman to place the Angel atop their Young and the Restless (YR) tree.
The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) gives Eric (John McCook) a chance to bust out his Broadway leading man quality pipes, and General Hospital (GH) has the Christmas story read at the hospital by someone who isn’t a mobster.
So which festivity do fans love best? Over 4,000 jingled our bells with the answer!
Tradition! Tradition!
It was incredibly close, but 50% of you eked out a victory for beloved family customs. Even if it’s something like GH’s Quartermaines always ruining their Thanksgiving dinner and ordering out for pizza, or the Forresters turning to the person sitting next to them around the festive table and saying something nice about them.
Will Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve (Stefan Nichols) be seeing St. Nick in Salem this year, like DAYS’ days past?
Will someone be having A Christmas Carol dream in Genoa City? You all sure hope so!
Round Yon Virgin, Mother and Child
A slightly tinier number, 49%, cares more about families being together, then about what they’re doing.
You don’t mind if Victor and Nick (Joshua Morrow) end up at each other’s throats. You don’t care if Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Ava (Maura West) snap Avery like a wish-bone.
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) can ping-pong between the fathers of her children, and Will (Chandler Massey) cannot recognize a single relative, just as long as they’re together and bringing the drama.
You know that everything will turn out happily in the end… if only for the day….
