The hosts of the first-ever Daytime Emmy Awards were game show host Peter Marshall and TV journalist Barbara Walters. Last year, it was Sheryl Underwood of The Talk and Mario Lopez of Extra. Who will host this year’s ceremony?
It’s a demanding job and it’s wise to have more than one host so the workload is shared. Hosts need to be familiar with the entire daytime landscape and be quick on their feet in case something unusual happens — like the wrong envelope being handed to presenters!
Other past hosts of the Daytime Emmys have been Kelly Monaco (Sam, General Hospital) and Tom Bergeron (Dancing With the Stars); The Young and the Restless’ Eric Braeden (Victor) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki); and Braeden along with Susan Lucci (ex-Erica, All My Children) and Deidre Hall (Marlena, Days of Our Lives).
Which team would you like to see return to host this year’s Daytime Emmys? Or would you like to see a new pair handle the chores? Choose from the list below to cast YOUR vote!
