There are just too many awards to give out at the Daytime Emmys on one night, so while the statuettes for top shows and actors are awarded on Sunday, there was a slew of honors bestowed on Friday! And The Bold and the Beautiful was the evening’s big winner!

The half-hour sudser took home seven (!) Daytime Emmys and the main event hasn’t even happened yet!

B&B won for Outstanding Lighting Direction in a Drama Series, Outstanding Drama Series Technical Team, Outstanding Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing for a Drama Series, and Outstanding Musical Direction and Composition for a Drama Series.

The CBS soap home to the Forresters, Spencers, and Sally Spectra also took home awards for  Outstanding Costume Design for a Drama Series, Outstanding Makeup for A Drama Series, and Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series.

Also, Patrika Darbo (ex-Shirley, B&B) won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Digital Daytime Drama Series for her role as Mickey Walker in The Bay.

General Hospital’s casting director, Mark Teschner, and casting associate Regina Johnson, won for Best Daytime Casting.

GH also won for Outstanding Song Drama “Who I Am,” which was performed at Ned and Olivia’s (Wally Kurth and Lisa LoCicero) wedding.

Y&R won for Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing for a Drama Series as well as Outstanding Hair for a Drama Series.

Days of Our Lives, alas, went home empty-handed. However, that could change Sunday when The 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, hosted by Mario Lopez (Extra) and Sheryl Underwood (The Talk), take place.

All four Daytime soap operas are nominated in the categories of Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.

There are also seven acting categories for soaps that will be awarded.

You can view the awards show by going to www.knekt.tv at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

And check out the pre-show red carpet hosted by Carolyn Hennesy (General Hospital) starting at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT also on www.knekt.tv.
