We’re not doing well here, folks. After getting used to having over a dozen soap operas on the major networks and being able to while away an entire day, from 11 AM to 4 PM, embroiled in the dramatic lives of beautiful people, we’re down to four.
The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days Of Our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR) each has their devoted fans, but if push came to shove, which is the one show you absolutely could not manage without? Almost 8,000 viewers told all!
No Rest Till Genoa City!
It’s the number one rated soap, so it’s no surprise that the largest number of fans, 74% of those who voted, would feel like their lives had ended if The Young and the Restless does.
How would you be able to function without a daily fix of Victor (Eric Braeden), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), and Jack (Peter Bergman) taking yet another stab at a triangle which they are sure, this time, they’ll be able to resolve once and for all.
To Boldly Go…
Lauren (Tracey Bregman), Eric (John McCook), and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), among others, have traveled between Genoa City and Los Angeles, and 9% of you see it as a part of one universe. Losing B&B would be like losing a piece of your extended world.
General Knowledge
General Hospital is the show 8% can’t imagine losing. Whether you’ve watched from the first days — when it was actually about a hospital, came in during the pop-culture explosion of the 1980s, or just dropped in this century, Port Charles is your second home — and moving out is not on the agenda.
Those Were the DAYS
GH scored only two more votes to wiggle Days of Our Lives down to the bottom spot, but another 8% are just as passionate about the good people of Salem.
Whether you see yourself as a Horton, a Brady, or a DiMera, you know there will never be another show quite like it.
