It takes many types of people to populate a soap opera town — whether they’re a hero, a villain, a jokester or a romantic — but which soap opera character is your favorite?
Soap Hub asked which kind of character do you prefer, and almost 7,000 weighed in on this subject to tell us. Here are the results.
Ah, Romance
A decisive 51% of you love the romantic characters. While he’s a bit controlling much of the time, no one can do romance like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) on the Young and the Restless.
He knows how to turn on the charm to get his wife Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) swooning instead of slapping… which he often deserves.
Not surprisingly, 29% love the hero! And only on General Hospital could the hero also be a hitman.
Basically, anyone who is ever in trouble calls on Jason (Steve Burton) to save the day. He’s so good, there are two of him now, with his twin, Drew (Billy Miller), also able to swoop in and help. These two are unstoppable! Just ask Joss and Oscar!
Long Live The Villain
Being bad to the bone is appreciated by the 10% who chose the villain as their favorite character.
The Bold and the Beautiful has had a plethora of villains and when one calms down, another pops up. Think of Quinn (Rena Sofer), then Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), and now Reese (Wayne Brady). They fascinate you!
Good For A Laugh
Not far behind at 9% came those who appreciate the jokester. And there are few daytime characters as funny as Leo (Greg Rikaart) and Xander (Paul Telfer) on Days of Our Lives.
Whether talking to each other or with someone else, these guys have the best one-liners that keep things interesting in Salem.
