Tragically, longtime soap vet Tracey Bregman lost her home in Malibu due to the recent fires.
The actress visited The Talk to share her ordeal and talked about how she’s processing the tragedy.
Bregman, who plays Lauren Fenmore on the top-rated The Young and the Restless, said that learning a fire had taken her entire home has been surreal.
“I don’t have anything from my past,” the actress said on The Talk. “No notes or cards, anything like that.”
Despite this horrible loss, Bregman says she feels “grateful” because she was able to save her sons and her animals. “We’re alive,” she said. “I’m just so grateful for everybody who has come forward and their love and support. That’s what I hold onto.”
Talk host Sharon Osborne asked Bregman if she was able to get any personal items out before the fire engulfed her home. Fortunately, the answer was yes.
The actress had time to pack a bag and the Daytime Emmy she won in 1985 in the first-ever Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series category.
Sadly, her late father, Buddy Bregman’s NAACP Image Award was not retrieved in time. Also lost were her children’s baby books and letters that she’d send her sons while she’d be away traveling.
Currently, Bregman has no place to live on the west coast. However, she recently found a home in Nashville where she’s been spending time. She said she plans to spend Thanksgiving there with pals Todd and Julie Chrisley, stars of the reality series Chrisley Knows Best, which airs on the USA network.
Soap Hub extends its sincere condolences to Bregman on the loss of her home and to all the victims of these horrific fires.
