Broadway legend Carol Channing, best known for her role on stage in Hello, Dolly!, has passed away, according to multiple reports.
Channing, 97, died at her home in Rancho Mirage, Calif., of natural causes.
She was a Tony Award and Golden Globe-winning actress and was also nominated for an Oscar.
Channing had a love for daytime, which led to her appearing as herself on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1993 when the Forresters staged a celebrity-packed fashion show, which included Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) line of clothing for men.
Along with Charlton Heston as well as Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows, Channing helped bring authenticity to the Salute to Hollywood-themed fashion gala.
While primarily known for her stage work, Channing amassed numerous TV credits in addition to her appearances on B&B. She lent her voice to Family Guy, and also appeared on The Love Boat, Touched By An Angel, and Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.
Soap Hub sends its condolences to Channing’s family, friends, and fans.
All of us at #BoldandBeautiful mourn the loss of our friend, the legendary star, #CarolChanning. She was a true original and there will never be anyone like her. Ms. Channing appeared as herself on B&B in 1993. May she rest in peace. @CBSDaytime @BandB_CBS pic.twitter.com/Cglg39Lrwf
