Surprising Saviors Save the Day on Your Favorite Soap Opera

Every soap opera has its share of secret agents and everyday heroes, but once in a while someone surprising comes forward to save the day.

Sometimes it’s a grandmother, an enemy, or just your average Joe. But when that happens, it makes the story even richer. Find a standout from each soap below and then let us know in the comments which ones you would have chosen.

Days of Our Lives
Alice Horton (Frances Reid) seemed like your average mild-mannered grandmother who loves to bake you a doughnut from time to time. But back in the day, there was no better person to have on your side in a crisis.

Just ask Roman Brady. Wrongly accused of murder, Roman was stuck in jail until he was able to escape thanks to Alice’s famous homemade doughnuts, spiked with a drug to simulate heart attack symptoms.

She then helped to block the road when paramedics came, allowing Roman’s brother Bo to drug the medics and Roman to escape and eventually find the real killer!

The Young and the Restless
Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) manipulated Chris and Paul to get Chris to be with him, using Isabella. Eventually Chris learned the truth and reunited with Paul, driving Isabella to the edge.

When Isabella set Chris up for her “murder,” and then tried to kill her, Paul saved Chris but then Isabella wanted to kill them both. Michael swooped in and saved the two, despite seeming like the bad guy in the situation.

General Hospital
Hayden (Rebecca Budig) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) hated each other from the very beginning. So when Liz was almost killed by Paul Hornsby, a desperate Franco found out from his mother that Hayden was actually Liz’s sister.

It turned out the two had the same rare blood type. Hayden wasn’t known for her generous heart, especially towards someone she couldn’t stand, so when she agreed to donate her precious blood to save Liz…continue reading on the next page —>

It turned out the two had the same rare blood type. Hayden wasn’t known for her generous heart, especially towards someone she couldn’t stand, so when she agreed to donate her precious blood to save Liz (granted, she did have some incentive), it was a shock – especially to Liz!

The Bold and the Beautiful
Who can forget that horrible Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and all of the danger she brought with her from Genoa City to Los Angeles?

She once kidnapped Amber in order to pave the way for her own daughter Erica Lovejoy. Instead, Amber, who wasn’t exactly the most liked person by the Forresters, found herself saved by none other than Stephanie Forrester herself!

Of course, Stephanie had a little help from her first love (and Ridge’s biological father), Massimo Marone. Bet Amber never saw THAT coming!
