Soap World Shares Memories of Beloved Star David Cassidy

The passing of former teen heartthrob David Cassidy, most known for his role as Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family, on November 21, has hit the world hard — including several current and former soap actors who grew up worshipping the actor/singer.

Tracey Bregman, Lauren on The Young and the Restless, knew the handsome star and shared a very poignant memory to her followers on Instagram, which you can see below — along with many other tributes.

His half-brother, fellow teen idol and former General Hospital (GH) star, Shaun Cassidy (ex-Dusty), also took to social media, this time Twitter, to share thoughts on his passing.

“…I tried to catch him of course. I always tried to catch him. But I never could. Now, I will carry him, along with all of the funny/sad/extraordinary days we shared, none more filled with love than these last few at his side.”

He was my first crush and luckily, because he was friends with my half brother @blbregman who toured with him for 3 years as his photographer, I got to have lunch with him. I must have been 8. He touched my shoulder as we walked into the restaurant. I swore i would never wash my shoulder again. Years later, he and his wife, Susan bought my family house from my mom @sillysuzieq and me. They were having their son, Beau and i was pregnant with Austin. We all ended up in baby class together and I had breakfast with them one day at my old house. David was so sweet, funny and gracious. I am so sad that he has left this earth so early. Sending much love to Beau, Susan and his whole family.
