With Daytime Emmy season off to a roaring start now that the pre-nominations are out and the Blue Ribbon nomination list is being finalized, Soap Hub thought we’d play a little bit of Emmy trivia.
One would think soap stars who have been around for decades have a mantle full of Emmys, right? Well, not so. While some stars rack them up, others find themselves empty-handed, no matter how deserving they are.
So, which vet of the four below have the most Emmys–John Aniston, Genie Francis, John McCook, or Peter Bergman?
Believe it or not, John Aniston has never won a Daytime Emmy, although he was nominated for the first time last year. Aniston has played Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives since 1985, but got his start on soaps during the 1970s.
General Hospital star Genie Francis has also been on soaps (she started on GH as a teen) since the 70s, but only has one acting Emmy she took home for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2007. However, she earned nominations in 2002 and 2012. Her 2012 nod was for her role as Genevieve on The Young and the Restless.
John McCook got his start on Y&R, but has played Eric Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful since the show premiered in 1987. However, despite two Emmy nominations in 2001 and 2012, he’s never taken home the gold.
Peter Bergman has played Jack Abbott on The Young and the Restless since 1989 and has been nominated for an Emmy almost every year since (and even has one nod from his days on All My Children in 1983). He is also the actor on this list to win the most amount of times. Bergman took home a statuette in 1991, 1992, and 2002.
