Sean Kanan, who played A.J. on General Hospital and Deacon on both The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless, is celebrating a major milestone today!
The talented actor was born on November 2, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio and is celebrating his 51st birthday! He has been wed to Michele Kanan since July 2010. Together, they have five children.
Kanan screen-tested for a role on B&B in the early ’90s that never developed. His first soap contract role was A.J. Quartermaine on GH in 1993. He then joined the cast of Sunset Beach as Jude Cavanaugh in the NBC soap’s final year. Next, he landed what some consider his signature role — Deacon Sharp on B&B in 2000.
He later brought that role to Y&R, and then, more recently, back to B&B where Deacon took the fall for trying to shoot Quinn, but it’s likely that Sheila was the one who pulled the trigger.
Away from soaps, Kanan’s TV credits include Desperate Housewives and Who’s the Boss, the films Karate Kid Part III, Hot Shots!, Sons of Italy, and Carpool Guy. He’s stepped behind the lens, too, and is credited as both executive producer and writer of the 2003 film Chasing Holden.
