Daytime legend Robin Strasser, who will soon be returning to soaps in a Days of Our Lives mystery role, recently shared some heartbreaking news.
Strasser, who spent decades as the iconic Dorian Lord on One Life to Live, tweeted that she lost her mother this past weekend.
“My Mother, Anne, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday night,” Strasser wrote. “I’m going to need private time to mourn the smart, feisty, edgy woman who gave birth to me.”
The actress, who won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her OLTL role, candidly shared that she and her mother never got along, adding that she “feel[s] so sad that we never got the chance to make it right.”
The actress’ late mother would have turned 94 on April 17th of this year.
Ironically, Strasser got to play out on television one of soap opera’s most memorable mother/daughter relationships when she was Rachel on Another World opposite the late, great Connie Ford, who played Rachel’s mom Ada Davis.
Ada wouldn’t hesitate to shoot straight with her daughter. She didn’t always like what Rachel did, but she always loved her.
Soap Hub sends its deepest sympathies to Strasser at this time.
