Veteran daytime actress Francine York died on Jan. 6 after a long battle with a horrific illness.
The actress lost a battle with cancer. She was 80 years old.
In 1978, York portrayed Lorraine Farr Temple on Days of Our Lives. In Salem, her character claimed her daughter, Donna, was fathered by politician Don. Current The Young and the Restless actress Tracey Bregman played the part of Donna at the time.
In 1982 York starred in daytime again as Thelma on General Hospital.
According to Soap Opera Digest, she started her long and successful career as a model before she landed the role of a sexpot in the Jerry Lewis film It’s only money. She went on to work with the likes of Marlon Brando, Elvis Presley, and Nicholas Cage over the span of many decades.
Perry Mason, Bewitched, and Batman are among her primetime credits. Recently, she also starred in Hot in Cleveland and The Mindy Project.
At the time of her death, York was completing work on her autobiography. We wish peace for her family during this time of mourning and remembering.
