You know Cady McClain from her iconic roles as Dixie on “All My Children” and Rosanna on “As the World Turns,” as well as playing Krazy Kelly on “The Young and the Restless” last year.

Now we’ve learned that you’ll get to see another side of the actress when she tackles the role of Logan on Crystal Chappell’s (ex-Carly, “Days of Our Lives”) long-running Web sensation, “Venice, The Series.” The show, which is beginning work on its fifth season, announced the casting via Twitter.

Dual Role
While this is her first acting role on the show, Cady McClain is no stranger to the set. She came on board as a director this season, as well. The Emmy-winning actress is a seasoned director and her latest short film, “The World of Albert Fuh,” has been getting notice at various film festivals.

She also wrote, directed and starred in the Web series, “Suzy F*cking Homemaker.” McClain is not the first soap opera star to direct on the “Venice” – Chappell, as well as Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie, “The Bold and the Beautiful”), have also taken a turn.

Star-Studded Cast
The web series offers a star-studded cast, including Hillary B. Smith (ex-Nora, “One Life to Live”) and a host of former “Guiding Light” stars. They include Robert Newman (ex-Josh), Tina Sloan (ex-Lillian), Elizabeth Keifer (ex-Blake), Gina Tognoni (ex-Dinah, now Phyllis, “The Young and the Restless”) and Jordan Clarke (ex-Billy). Actors from DAYS include Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe), Galen Garing (Rafe), Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel), and Peter Reckell (ex-Bo). McClain is actually replacing Judi Evans (Adrienne) in the role of Logan.

“Venice, The Series” follows the life of Gina Brogno, a successful interior designer who lives and works in Venice Beach, California and happens to be gay. It won an Emmy in 2011 for Outstanding Special Class Format Daytime and the 2014 Outstanding Drama Series New Approaches. The online soap gets its money from crowdsourcing on indegogo.com. This allows certain perks for high-level donors – like appearing in an episode.
