With so many intense things happening with characters on The Young and the Restless (YR), General Hospital (GH), Days of Our Lives (DOOL), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), fans sometimes lose patience with many of their once beloved favorites.
At times like these, the hate runs out of control on social media, and a couple of the biggest stars involved in controversial storylines took to their accounts to remind fans that they are NOT the characters they portray and that they simply the follow the scripts they are given.
They Were On a BREAK!
Fans hate the recent choice Carly (Laura Wright) made to sleep with her ex Jax (Ingo Rademacher) after believing that Sonny (Maurice Benard) slept with the nefarious Nelle (Chloe Lanier). In typical fashion, they’ve taken to social media to let their dismay be heard.
Recently, Laura Wright addressed some fan concerns on Twitter.
Even though the actress is on vacation with her family, she spent a lot of time addressing fans and pointing out that SHE is not Carly — she portrays Carly. This is a distinction that often gets blurred.
Did He or Didn’t He Play While He was Away?
Recently in Genoa City, Cane (Daniel Goddard) may or may not have cheated on his wife Lily (Christel Khalil). The hate he’s receiving due to what might not have even taken place on Y&R caused Goddard to take to Instagram to remind fans that he does exactly what the script tells him to do as Cane.
Choices Bad or Good are in the Script!
On B&B fans don’t like how Quinn (Rena Sofer) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) carried on behind Eric (John McCook) and Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) backs.
Similarly, fans of DAYS are freaking out about the Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abby (Marci Miller) and Gabi (Camilla Banus) and Dario (Jordi Vilasuso) multiple love triangles, and are going so far as to call some of the actresses and actors absolutely horrible names and make fun of their physical looks even though ALL they are doing is following their scripts!
During times when your favorites drive you crazy, it’s important to remember that the nature of daytime drama means that there will be plenty of ups and downs along the way to keep the stories interesting.
If they didn’t evoke strong feelings, these shows wouldn’t have made it so long running five days a week all year!
Maybe when characters make you feel so angry, take a moment to calm down and realize that that strong feeling is part of why you love watching the show!
