A longtime soap veteran is ready to give up acting to give to her country.
Kimberlin Brown, The Republican star of The Bold and the Beautiful, made her comeback as Sheila earlier this year.
The actress has announced her candidacy for Congress in California’s 36th district for the 2018 midterm elections.
“For the first time in the history of our great country, we are not leaving something better behind for our youth,” the actress wrote on her new ‘Kimberlin Brown Pelzer For Congress website.
“Though I’d be walking away from a very lucrative business and career, it’s a move I’m willing to make, to make a difference. I’m not looking to be a career politician. I will get out when I’m no longer effective.”
Brown is a staunch Republican and even spoke at the Republican National Convention last year when Donald Trump was nominated for president.
California’s 36th congressional district comprises Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio, Coachella, Rancho Mirage, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, and Cathedral City in the Inland Empire.
As the primary process has not yet started for the 2018 election, Brown may not become the general election candidate, but she’s sure going to give it her all to get there.
