Linsey Godfrey, who recently reprised her role as Caroline Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful in order to help usher Pierson Fode’s Thomas off the canvas, has shared a deeply personal experience she suffered as a child and early teen.
Posting on both Instagram and Twitter, Godfrey said the constant stream of news reports related to the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal started to cause her great anxiety.
“I started to realize why these stories coming to light hit me so hard,” Godfrey wrote. “Its [sic] something I’ve never really said out loud before. I am a sexual abuse survivor.”
As you can read in the actress’ post below, she details abused she suffered at the hands of a relative which she says started when she was merely 7 years old.
In her post, the Emmy-nominated actress implores people not to remain silent. “Speak out against your attacker.”
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for time and channel.

I want us to change the world.
Just know it was never our dirty little secret, it was theirs. We had something done to us. We are survivors!— Linsey Godfrey (@linseygodfrey) October 16, 2017
