On soaps, Tracy Melchior has been up against some big family conflicts. In real life, she’s got one of her own to battle: She says her mother is a hoarder and needs some help!
The actress, who has played B&B’s Kristen on and off since 2001, recently went on Dr. Phil, the self-help talk show hosted by Dr. Phillip McGraw, to talk about her mother and the living conditions of her home.
Melchior feels her mom and the pets she owns need help given the run-down conditions of her mothers dwelling.
According to the Dr. Phil website, Melchior reached out to Dr. Phil for help with her mom, Robin, 71.
The actress says that her mom’s homes have traditionally been cluttered with “filth, chaos, and animals.” Melchior feels that her mother has never taken responsibility for this.
Melchior likens it all to being the child of a drug addict — only it’s not drugs that are the problem but hoarding.
The good news is that Robin says she knows she needs assistance, but the idea of giving away her belongings brings on anxiety. Still, she appears ready to ask for help and believes that Dr. Phil can provide that assistance.
Soap Hub wishes Melchior and her mom the best in getting on top of this situation. Check out this link to Dr. Phil in order to get a summary of Melchior’s heart-rendering segment.
