What do General Hospital and Star Wars have in common other than them both being owned by Disney? Well, it’s actually something VERY cool for one of its stars.
Carolyn Hennesy (Diane) has taken over the role of voicing Princess Leia from Rachel Butera, who voiced Carrie Fisher’s iconic role in the premiere episode of Star Wars Resistance, according to the closing credits of the show’s winter finale.
This isn’t the first time Hennesy has voiced the beloved role. She also played her in LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars. It is unclear why the change in voice-over actresses happened, but according to CinemaBlend, it might be due to a social media post Butera made (and has since removed).
Hennesy joins former Days of Our Lives star, Christopher Sean (ex-Paul) on the animated series. He portrays the lead in the Disney series, Kazuda Xiono, who is part of the resistance trying to destroy the First Order.
Interestingly, they are not the only daytimers associated with this project. David Shaughnessy, former executive producer of The Young and the Restless and brother to Charles Shaughnessy (Shane, DAYS), is listed as voicing the character of Drell.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
